There’s something about an old-school, slightly awkward portrait. They’re the overly posed JCPenney portraits that just get people. You know the ones—hands stacked, matching poses, and big smiles that feel just a little too serious. So I thought… what if we brought that vibe back? But it was completely unfiltered, a little chaotic, and so much fun.
This session was exactly that.
No kids. No distractions. Just three mom friends showing up for each other—and certainly letting themselves laugh.
And not just a quick smile for the camera kind of laugh… I’m talking about the kind that basically sneaks up on you and takes over. The kind where you’re bent over, grabbing onto each other, wiping tears, and saying “wait—stop—I can’t breathe.” The kind of laughter that feels like medicine.
Because let’s be honest… how often do we actually get that in life? Especially as moms!
So much of life is about changing the schedule, the responsibility we have as parents, or showing up for everyone else. And somewhere in there, we forget what it feels like to just be with our people. This session became a space to do exactly that—to step out of the everyday and into something light, joyful, and honestly… a little ridiculous in the best way.
We leaned all the way in.
The poses got sillier.
The laughter got louder.
And the more they let go, the better it got.
What started as a “fun idea” turned into something so much bigger—connection, energy, and a reminder of who they are together, outside of all the roles they carry.
This is why I love sessions like this.
It’s not about having perfect hair or polished poses.
These portraits focus on friendship. They’re about joy. And about that feeling you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.
And the best part? This isn’t just for one group.
So, grab your friends, coworkers, or even your team. You know the ones—your people.
If you have 3+ personalities in the room, it will turn into something unforgettable.
Because sometimes… the best thing you can do for yourself is laugh like you used to.
