Ooooh, you guys! Do I have a maternity session to share with you today! This soon to be mom and dad are very dear to my heart as not only are they our best friends, but they were also an Ali B Bride & Groom! I will never forget their amazing destination wedding on the beach in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico!
Laura & Troy are expecting their first baby this month and we can not wait to meet HIM! Yes, Him! It’s a Boy!
A few moths ago, Laura & Troy invited my little family to their house for dinner along with Troy’s Immediate family. After a nice dinner, Laura pulled cupcakes out from the cabinet that she had hidden so no one saw and announced, “okay let’s find out if it’s a boy or a girl!” Everyone was screaming with excitement as we had no idea that we were invited to a surprise gender reveal! Laura got her immediate family set up on Face time and Skype since they live out of state and could not be there in person. While she set up the phones and computers, I remembered that I happened to have my camera in the car as I had a photo shoot earlier that day! Once everyone was set up correctly, they announced that everyone was to take a cup cake and bite into it at the same time so we all find out at once. Excitedly, we all did (yes I can multi-task) and we all screamed….
“ IT’S A BOY!!”
Tears of joy were falling all around the room and my son Ethan clapped with excitement as he is totally going to have a new best friend! Everyone was so happy and thrilled to be apart of that special moment for mom and dad! The rest of the night, yes, you guessed it….everyone tried to come up with the perfect name!
Laura contacted me to do a maternity session to capture this special time in their lives. I was so happy she asked and we got right to brainstorming ideas. She knew she wanted to have a casual look about her photos, but also something to add a little more personal touches, and special moments to since this is a huge moment in her life that she does not want to forget.
This session took place at their home and on a private beach in Plymouth, MA. We started at the house for the first half as Laura knew she wanted to incorporate their dog, Diesel. Diesel has been with them for a long time and they are not sure how much more time they will have with him. Including Diesel in the photos was a must and so memorable as he awaits for his baby brother to arrive. The outfit choice for the first half of their session was a bralette top and swim cover up skirt with the intention to show off her belly for more of a modern like personal photo. She looked absolutely beautiful and that belly is pure perfection!
The second part of their session was on the beach. She knew she wanted a few beach photos as they were married on the beach. I found a nice private beach that was close to their home and for this part, her husband joined us. I asked Laura what was something that dad has done for mom during the pregnancy and she responded that the fact he agreed to take maternity photos was so supportive because he does not like his picture taken and he knew that this session was very important to her. Laura chose to wear a long black maxi dress with jean jacket. She was casual and comfortable and complimented her husbands choice of outfit nicely.
