Jennifer + Dylan | Engaged!

The first time I met Jen and Dylan, I got really excited. For a lot of reasons. We met at my usual meeting place at the time, Panera Bread in Plymouth, MA. They walked in the doors and like any first time “blind” date, we were all nervous but happy to finally be talking in person and not over email. Jen was beaming head to toe and so happy check photography off her list of to-dos..  I was so excited to hear that they are planning a spring wedding for April of next year at the Chatham Bars Inn on Cape Cod. The venue is absolutely beautiful and right on the Chatham Beach. I remember one thing that Jen said to me during this time, was that she was obsessed with a photo I took of a wedding cake, and that’s what made her contact me. You can check that photo out HERE. That little compliment meant a lot to me, and I was thrilled that she loved it so much. I will think of her each time I  look at that image (along with the original Ali B  Bride and Ali B Groom for that cake, of course!)

For Jen and Dylan’s engagement session, we picked the shoot to be on Memorial Day weekend. They were celebrating with family on the cape, and came to Plymouth for their session. I got to meet Jen’s mom at Panera Bread during our consultation and this time, for the engagement session, I got to meet Dylan’s mom and dad! I love how so far, each time I met with them, they have somehow included their family to be a part of their wedding plans, making each moment more and more memorable and personalized to each other.

Jen had her hair and make-up done for the session. She was gorgeous! She went with her wedding make up trial for this day  as I happened to send her some engagement session tips and tricks in an awesome guide I have been working on. She read through it, followed my steps and through each image, her confidence shows. The way that Dylan looked at her made my heart melt and the two of them together were so great to work with. They trusted me in my ways of posing and choosing the places we went to, and they were up to walking a good bit. At the end of our session we had a ‘practice’ shot of the parents of the groom with them and we even had some photo bombers who wanted in on their session. There were lots of laughs and when it came time to say goodbye, we felt sad realizing the next time we would see each other  is in April!

Jen and Dylan I had a blast! Thank you for taking the time to read my guide, travel to Plymouth from the cape on Memorial Day Weekend, introducing me to your parents and trusting me to capture your engagement photos during this exciting time before your special day! I cannot wait until next April to celebrate, hang out and see you and your closest friends and family! Enjoy these next several months of your engagement, your wedding day will be here before we know it!T45A9651Untitled-7T45A9839Untitled-4T45A9996Untitled-3T45A962910T45A95079
