Peter & Brittany | Five Bridge Inn Wedding Venue

I could not wait for Peter and Brittany’s wedding day since I met them back in December! We had their engagement session a few weeks before the wedding day where we had so much fun hanging out in their barn, I just knew their wedding was going to be just as awesome, if not more. Boy, was I right! The location of their wedding day was at the Five Bridge Inn in Rehoboth, MA. It was absolutely stunning with the country like feel. Just knowing Brittany and Peter for a short amount of time, I knew that this wedding represented them perfectly. Each and every touch of detail made all the difference and you can see how hard they worked to make this day perfect not only for themselves, but for everyone around them.

Peter and Brittany met in Leverett, MA during the summer of 2014 at the barn where Brittany was been working.  She happened to be  running the summer riding camp at the time – teaching and taking out trail rides. The barn was going through the process of getting a cellphone tower installed on the property and Peter was the “balloon guy” surveying the area. After trying so hard all day to start a conversation, he finally broke the ice when her dog, Samantha, came barreling up to him – and the rest is history!

I asked Brittany about the way Peter prosed so many times because I LOVE hearing engagement stories and theirs is just too perfect not to share. She told me, “Peter sent me off on a scavenger hunt. He had a bunch of our friends involved… following all the clues, I was led back to my house, where one of my friends handed me the “last” clue – in it read “tangled up in you” (as that song started to play) … I walked into the backyard to find an aisle of torches leading to Peter standing there at the end with my horse, Tonka. On the side of the horse, he had written “Will You Marry Me?” and at that moment he got on one knee – It was beyond perfect!”

For fun, I asked Brittany how she would describe her whole wedding experience in which she shared with me, “Extremely fun, humorous, and family oriented”.

I always talk to my brides and grooms about how they would like to see each other for the first time. Brittany and Peter decided not to do a first look. I captured his face at the moment he saw her for the first time and it just makes my heart happy!

So I asked Brittany, First Look or No First Look? “We saw each other at the rehearsal dinner the night before, but we decided against doing a first look before I walked down the aisle. My dad didn’t even see me until just before. The expressions on both of their faces were priceless, and you captured Peter’s perfectly! We wouldn’t have changed a thing!”

I asked Brittany to share with me  what her favorite moment(s) from the wedding were. When she gave me this answer I was able to not only relive their wedding through their photos, but I pictured this exact memory happening again.

“I loved involving Dreama (miniature horse)… I’ve had her for 17 years (She’s 19 this year) and has been involved with every major event in my life – it was only fitting that she be a part of my wedding as well! I loved incorporating the branding into the ceremony, playing Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” as smoke filled the air. Everything went perfectly “imperfect” – we accidentally melted the “G” shaped horseshoe brand into the wood – needing the help of my good friend (and farrier!) to come to the rescue; I also tripped on the aisle runner as my dad was walking with me, so we both held my dress up.”

Brittany had so many nice things to say about each of her vendors I felt that I needed to share her reviews:

Obviously Ali B Photography – you were amazing to work with!! I can’t say enough wonderful things about you! You captured every detail perfectly.

My caterer was incredible! I used Ralph’s Catering from Cranston RI ((401) 464-4440) …They went above and beyond – setting up my cupcake display, my centerpieces, etc. Ralph himself attended and made sure that everything ran smoothly. My cake topper had accidentally broken – they ran out to the store to get super glue and glued it back together in time for us to cut it – I had no idea until later on! The attention to detail and professionalism that he and all of his staff showed was amazing; Not to mention, the food was DELICIOUS (cooked onsite) and everyone was extremely pleased with their meals. I can’t say enough wonderful things about them!

The DJ that I used was Wes Faulkner (Taunton MA). He played live music for our cocktail hour and then switched over to DJ-ing the rest of the reception… he was great to work with and very professional as well – we all had a great time!

Our fabulous friends had our cupcakes made for us as a gift by Susan Cavaco of Susie Q’s Gourmet Cupcakes (Fall River MA)… they were scrumptious!!

My hairdresser was great to work with – Darlene is the owner of Polished in Leominster MA – they went above and beyond, staying the night before in a hotel, just to make sure they got there in time in the morning – I loved the way my hair turned out for the wedding! All of my girls were pleased as

My family and I did all of our own decorations. Peter made signs, one of my aunt’s made my cowboy boot centerpieces, and various other friends and family members pitched in to help with other details…it was beautiful.

Lastly, the venue itself was AWESOME! We got married at the Five Bridge Inn in Rehoboth MA. The owner, Anne, was very helpful and attentive. They are well prepared with umbrellas for the guests and a large tent on wheels that can be rolled over everyone during the outdoor ceremony, should it have rained. Luckily, this was unnecessary on our day. The accommodations were great too, as the girls all stayed the night before, then the rest of the wedding party the night of. They also had set up a fire pit for us to hang out by after our reception. Oh, and I need to mention that they were super welcoming and gracious in allowing me to bring my miniature horse, Dreama. She was equipped with a stall and feedings/care the entire weekend, as she participated in the wedding ceremony as well – it was truly a perfect venue for our fairytale wedding.

Since i want to make the wedding experience smooth for all, I ask What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding? Brittany stated, “Make sure to keep reminding yourselves that it’s about the two of you and the love you share – not about everyone else!”

To Brittany and Peter, Thank you so much for having me capture your amazing wedding day! I had so much fun and loved every minute! I am so happy to have met you guys and I hope to see you soon! Congratulations!
