Sara + Kendall | Wedding Day

Happy Tuesday, friends! I absolutely LOVED getting to capture Sara and Kendall’s wedding day! They had a beautiful {cold} April day where the sun was shinning so bright, just like their love for each other.

“This is the story about two of the luckiest girls in the world….”

Sara and Kendall met on OKCupid three and a half years ago. They had their first date at a coffee shop in Cambridge and here they are, married! The place that Kendall proposed, happened to be the same place that they were married, Seagull beach on the Cape.

Their wedding day was  shared with their closest friends and family in West Yarmouth overlooking the ocean. Kendall’s mom made their beautiful Chupah which stood over 4 poles held by their closest friends and Sara’s sister sang I Choose You by Sara Bareilles as they walked down the aisle together. It was so memorable and there was not a dry eye in the crowd.

Sewn on the Chupah were special fabrics that had meaning to both brides, as well as their names. It was a windy day which made the Chuaph lay so nicely as the wind picked it up at times.  I was in awe when I first saw it and in awe again when Kendall’s mom made her speech later that day, explaining each piece of fabric on it, and showed the guests that there was a pocket for them to write a wish on a paper shell and drop it inside. Once completed, Sarah and Kendall will have that forever, along with the wishes shared for them.

Sara and Kendall had a ‘First Look’ before the ceremony. I had them off to the side on the beach, away from their guests, as they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day. The moment was so sweet. The amount of love that poured out of them is unexplainable. I hope that their photos of that moment help to show what I mean. Through the smiles, tears, laughter and hugging it was clear these two are meant to be. This moment happened to be Sara’s favorite part of the wedding day and I have to agree with her, It was mine too!

Let’s talk about the party! Their wedding reception was so unique! Sara and Kendall decided on a brunch at the Flax Pond Recreation Center catered by Red Lentil. They decided on having vegan breakfast food, coffee from Mary Lou’s and their cake from Artisan Bake Shop. Everything was so good and I have to say, I think their little “Granola- Bar” was adorable…Get it!?

During this reception, there was no dancing. Now, ‘Dancing is not a crime’ (guess the movie I just threw in there!) however, It is just not a part of who Sara and Kendall are. Music did play in the background, but the main thing that they wanted to share with everyone was their love of board games. Everyone participated and played a game (or two) that was provided and I captured some amazing moments of laughter as everyone was enjoying themselves! At the end, I did see a few people dancing, including the brides!

Sara and Kendall, Thank you! I enjoyed every moment of your wedding day. The love that you two share for one another is heartwarming and contagious. There was so much love shared between both of you, and everyone there supporting you guys! I am so honored that I was there to capture those special moments.

Enjoy this little sneak peek! There is more to come!

For future brides, I asked Sara and Kendall what advice they have for you when planning your wedding. They said, ” Do what feels right for your relationship. Simple can be just as beautiful. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Try not to stress too much. Oh, and don’t forget the rings!”
