Lara and Jason are the sweetest couple! Usually, I met my couples before the wedding day during their engagement session, however when I spoke with Lara during our initial meeting phone call, they were planning a small intimate backyard wedding with no more than 20 people. Their plans were not the traditional wedding followed with a reception so they were not looking to have the full engagement session into wedding experience.
A few months after planning their small wedding, a few things changed, and state guidelines were opening back up allowing gatherings to have more than 20 people. So, Lara and Jason continued planning their intimate backyard wedding day but this time, they opened the guest list and invited their closest friends and more family. They went from have 20 people to now having about 60 people in the backyard of Jason’s parents beautiful Cape Cod home.
Although I did not meet them for an engagement session, as soon as I saw them both on their wedding day, it felt like I knew them and being comfortable with them was not an issue. Everyone there was so welcoming and kind, I just loved learning about them while shooting their detail photos and just chatting with them and guests throughout the wedding day.
Lara and Jason have the sweetest little girl, Maisy who was the cutest little bundle in her matching dress with mom. One of my favorite parts of their wedding day was the first look they all had together. She was so cute looking up at dad while he saw his bride for the first time that day. When dad saw her his face radiated pure love for both of his girls and while I was standing back letting them have their moment, I was smiling ear to ear, so happy to see them all together on this special day.
