Friends! I can’t decide if this is an easier post to write or if it’s harder!!! It’s easy because this is my sister’s engagement post!!! But it’s hard because I have a lifetime of things that I could say about her!! 🙂 Before I get into how much I love Kevin and Danielle, let me explain that this was session was planned when Danielle came to visit us in July and scheduled for the only weekend I had off in October. They met at the W hotel in Washington DC while Danielle and her friends were out to celebrate her birthday. Since they met in DC they decided to have their engagement session there too. I am so thankful for them. They flew me out there for a weekend to capture these amazing moments and I couldn’t have been happier to do this for them!
I arrived in DC on a Friday night. It was raining and called for rain most of the weekend. We came up with a plan to take photos indoors and/or under covered buildings if needed. We started our Saturday with walk to get coffee and a sister trip to the nail salon. We had so much fun since we really never get to do that together anymore! After that we walked back in the rain to start getting ready for their engagement session. As we were getting ready, the rain stopped and the sun came out!!! This was so exciting since Danielle really wanted photos outside at several locations throughout DC and since the rain stopped and the sun was in and out of clouds, we were able to go to several locations and stay outside!
Danielle and Kevin are planning a black tie wedding for October next year in Philadelphia. We talked a lot about clothing choices for their session and I told them that I really pictured a long black dress for her and a really nice suit for him with black tie. They both looked amazing! Danielle found the perfect dress, it was like that dress was made for her. We decided to stick with their formal wear the first day as we walked all around DC and captured their photos are each of the monuments. The next day they went with a more casual look and we stayed in one location.
Kevin is just wonderful and the more I’m around him, the more I love him. I have prayed for YEARS for him without knowing who he was and it’s so surreal to look at these pictures and know that God has been preparing him for Danielle for a long time. These two are going to make an incredible team as husband and wife!! I CAN’T WAIT!! What an exciting season of life!!!! Since our session was a full weekend, there are so many amazing photos I wanted to share with you! I can not wait to see them again for the holidays this year and I CAN NOT WAIT to celebrate on their wedding day!
