Little Extra Magic with Ethan and Henry | Green Truck Session

This year, our family holiday card had a little extra magic—thanks to Ethan, Henry, and Henry the Green Truck! I take photographs my own kids all the time. But this year, I had the determination to capture something special during this year’s mini sessions. The result? A holiday card that brought the wow factor front and center!

Ethan and Henry joined me at the Green Truck Mini Sessions. This is one of my favorite setups of the season. The vintage teal truck and cozy, neutral holiday décor create such a beautiful backdrop. And I couldn’t resist making it the setting for our own family card.

Photographing your own kids is a unique challenge. Ethan and Henry are full of personality. But getting their “ears turned on” to listen and coaxing out genuine smiles takes a bit of extra effort. There were a few moments when I had to channel every ounce of patience. I kept up with the reminder them that candy canes might just be in their future if we finished strong!

But aside from the giggles, goofy faces, and forced grins, we managed to capture some truly magical shots. Ethan, with his thoughtful expressions and playful energy, and Henry, with his endless curiosity and infectious smile, brought so much personality to the photos. These are the moments that remind me why I love photography—not just for the perfect poses, but for the authentic memories they represent.

When it came time to design our holiday card, I couldn’t have been happier with the results. The Green Truck provided the perfect touch of charm and nostalgia, and Ethan and Henry’s personalities shone through in every image. The final design had just the right mix of warmth and holiday cheer to make it a standout card we’re proud to send to family and friends.

Being both mom and photographer can be a balancing act, but moments like these make it all worth it. I’m so grateful for the memories we created this year and for the chance to share a little bit of that magic with our loved ones through our holiday card.

If you’re thinking about using your mini session photos for your holiday cards, I can’t recommend it enough. These sessions capture the joy and spirit of the season in a way that’s truly timeless—and maybe even a little bit magical.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season filled with love, laughter, and plenty of picture-perfect moments!
