This fall, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the Maye family during my mini sessions. And let me tell you—this was a session for the books! Not only are the Mayes a wonderful family, but they’re also part of our own community. Their youngest is one of my son Henry’s best friends. Their dad just so happens to be my son’s football and baseball coach. It’s always special to connect with families I know personally. Having them in front of my camera was such a treat.
The Mayes brought along their adorable dog, Misty, who added an extra dose of fun and cuteness to the session. Misty was an absolute star, posing perfectly and adding so much personality to their photos. Watching the boys interact with her—playful and loving—was heartwarming and made for some unforgettable moments.
The session for the books, as it will forever be known, itself was filled with laughter, love, and a genuine sense of togetherness. It’s clear how much the Mayes cherish each other. Capturing that bond in the crisp autumn air was truly a joy. From the boys’ playful energy to Misty’s perfect doggie smiles, every moment was a reflection of the warmth and joy this family brings to the people around them.
