Wedding recap! 2016 is coming to a close. I can’t help but to look back over the year and think about the amazing people I have met during all of my sessions and weddings. The gratitude I have for all the opportunities that came my way is huge! I will always cherish each and every moment we have all had together.
I started my business back in 2012 thinking I was only going to work with children and families. Until I shot my first wedding and thought… nope, I am going to do weddings. I am especially thankful to all my 2016 brides and grooms for giving me a year I will always remember. You trusted me to capture your wedding day. One of the biggest days of your lives. You saw the passion I have in the photos you previewed before booking. And some of you sent me referrals before I even had the pleasure of working with you. All of these things mean so much to me. I am so happy to have you as part of the Ali B Family.
As many of you already know, I have a full time job along with my business. For the year of 2016, I only allowed myself to book 10 weddings for the year (although I did take 1 extra as two brides booked on the same day for the same weekend). While the inquiries poured in all year round, and I was so happy to have investment interest but due to having another job, I would not have been able to do it all. I was happy to refer inquiring brides to the network of photographers I work with in my area and I was able to reach my goal of 10 (11) weddings for the year (the most I have had yet!).
I absolutely loved getting to know each and every one of you and I am so happy to get to call each of you my friends. As your love and family grows, I hope that we get to work together again.
During this year, I was advised to join a group of creative entrepreneurs through The Rising Tide Society. With this amazing network, I have met so many amazing creative’s all striving to achieve their business goals. We support one another daily and meet monthly in our area. We are each other cheerleaders as we focus on community over competition. Through this network, I have worked with a few awesome individuals as they came along and worked along side me as a second shooter/Ali B Assistant. Jessica Dalton, Alisha Diaz, Lisa McNeil, Jessica Feiden, Abby Blake and John DePasquale. Without their help I am not sure I would have survived the day! We cheer one another on, teach each other new things all day long and I am a huge fan of each and every one of them. Their work on the wedding day and in the final product is incredible, and like my couples, I am so glad I get to call them my friends.
This year had me traveling to Cape Cod, New Hampshire and New Jersey. Every wedding is so unique and each one has a hiccup or two that we all have to work through. I am a very easy going, patient and flexible person and when things like this happen on a wedding day, I will reassure you that everything is going to be perfect, because when you look back, it all really was perfect. On the outside, I hope that fear and panic doesn’t show. I keep a smile on my face and ‘just keep swimming’ making sure that your day is the best day of your life.
When I look back at these images from each of the amazing weddings I had the pleasure of capturing, I can not help but smile. I remember so many amazing moments that happened, people I met, songs that were played, the hiccups that may have happened and the love on the new Mr. and Mrs. faces as they became one. Here are a few of my favorite images from each of my 2016 weddings. Thank you so much to all of you for sharing your love stories with me, and putting all of your trust in me to make sure your day runs smoothly and is perfect from start to finish.
