I am so excited to share with you this gorgeous red wine and soft blush Plymouth wedding with you and not just because I absolutely LOVED the dark red with the light color flower combo, but because I loved capturing these two during their engagement session not too long ago and I couldn’t wait to see them again for their wedding day! It was so comfortable to work with Joe and Kellie from the start, I knew that their wedding day was going to be so much fun and I couldn’t wait to start capturing so many special moments for them! The whole week I was watching the weather…. Kellie was watching the weather….. it called for rain on their wedding day, and when I spoke with Kellie to create their timeline, we talked about what happens when it rains and where photos would be taken. I reassured her that it will still be the best day of her life, no matter what the weather is, and we will work with it! As I was driving to the Bournedale Function Facility, it rained…. but once I got there, the sun was shining. On and off throughout the day, some showers did happen, but it didn’t change out photo plans, or wedding plans! Joe and Kellie said their I Do’s outside, in front of a beautiful pond, surrounded by their friends and family and it was perfect!
Rain started again toward the end of the ceremony but we were still able to be outside. Once we headed inside for introductions, it was raining but the sun was out, and 2 beautiful rainbows filled the sky over the pond. It was so cool to see and so special to have that on their wedding day!
Joe and Kellie had me crying at a certain point during their reception! They had the DJ play an anniversary dance. Now, if you have never heard of it or are planning to do it at your wedding, its really cool! The DJ will play a song and ask all the married couples to come up on the dance floor. After a minute, he will have the “couple who has been married for less than 24 hours” sit down, He will then go from “less than 5 years” and so on for a song or two. The couple who is the last to be dancing are the winners. They usually will give the bride and groom advice which is really nice. In this case, Kellie’s grandparents were the last ones still dancing. They have been married for 68 years, just celebrating their anniversary this month! I am not sure there was a dry eye in the room. It was such a touching moment and the look on their face when they realized they were the only two dancing were priceless!
Joe and Kellie, Thank you so much for trusting me to document the most important day of your life together! I am so happy for the both of you ( and your grandparents!) The weather worked out perfectly and I am so excited to share with you just a few of your photos! I hope that you can look back and remember the perfect day you had, surrounded by your closest friends and family. Man, there was so much love in the room! Thank you! xoxo.
