As the holiday season approaches, one of my favorite types of sessions to photograph is extended family portraits. There is something so special about gathering multiple generations together. Watching them celebrate the love, connection, and shared history that defines a family is a joy. It’s a time to honor the bonds that have grown over the years. And to capture moments that the family will treasure for decades to come!
Recently, I had the pleasure of welcoming the Porbunderwala family to the studio. Not just for not just one, but two extended family portrait sessions! The timing couldn’t have been more perfect! One session took place just before the holidays with one side of their extended family. The second was shortly after when everyone’s hearts were still filled with warmth and gratitude.
This session was especially meaningful because I already knew Cindy, Steve, and their kids from church. It was such a joy to reconnect with them and meet the rest of their wonderful family.
Seeing the interactions between grandparents, parents, siblings, and cousins was heartwarming. It reminded me why I love doing what I do. The multiple generations sessions go beyond photography. They’re about preserving a moment in time when everyone comes together to celebrate their shared story.
We spent the session capturing a mix of group shots, individual family units, and candid moments. These highlighted the unique dynamics of the Porbunderwala family. The photos turned out beautifully, with a mix of classic portraits and more relaxed, natural moments that truly reflect the essence of their family.
As I look back on this session, it reminds me of how important it is to take the time to capture these moments. Life moves quickly, and having photos that bring you back to a time when everyone was together is a gift that becomes even more meaningful as the years go by. It was an honor to help the Porbunderwala family create these memories, and I’m so grateful they chose my studio to document this special time in their lives.
To the Porbunderwala family: Thank you for trusting me with your memories. Your love for one another is inspiring, and it was a joy to witness and capture it through my lens. I hope these photos bring you as much happiness as they brought me while creating them.
