Marie and Matt | A Tiffany Ballroom at Four Points Sheridan Wedding

“There’s no lemon so sour you can’t make something resembling lemonade”- This is Us.

It called for rain throughout the day for Marie and Matt’s wedding day. There were pockets of sun in and out of the clouds all morning. Luckily, we were outside as much as we could be. Believe it or not, I actually love overcast and grey skies just as much as I love a clear sunny day! I was checking the weather for the entire week before. When it was time for me to pack up my gear, I packed my clear umbrellas for the wedding party just… just incase.

From the details to the church, the reception venue and the GUESTS, everything about Marie and Matt’s wedding was pure LOVE. Family to them is EVERYTHING! Throughout the whole day, you could see and feel ALL the love from EVERYONE there. I think it’s safe to say that they literally had 250 FAMILY MEMBERS attending their wedding. We’d turn a corner at the reception venue (before the party started) and there were guests screaming for them as they saw them, running with open arms to embrace in a huge hug! At church, during communion, they had guests smiling so big at them, with hand motions and hugs. The excitement that their guests had for the two of them was so contagious. Marie and Matt, you are SO loved!

I bet you are wondering if it rained… well, it did! Just as we exited the church, the dark clouds came! We made it to the venue and once we arrive, the sky opened up and it poured. We waited it out a little bit and were still able to take photos outside! The Tiffany Ballroom had a few places with a covering, so the wedding party was able to stay dry while we were outside. We used the clear umbrellas giving us some rainy day feels. We made lemonade. It was so good!

Marie and Matt, Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for… just being YOU! I knew from the moment I met you at your engagement session that your wedding was going to be beautiful. Just like the two of you, inside and out. Thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding day and introducing me to your ENTIRE family. I hope your sneak peek was worth the wait…. there are A LOT of photos for you to relive your wedding day all over again.

Marie and Matt played The Wedding Table Dash where the DJ played a song and we went around the ALL of the tables to get a group photo of the guests at the table with the bride and groom. We did this with 250 guests, 24 tables, in 5 minutes! It was SO MUCH FUN and I highly recommend it for those planning their wedding. I will be doing a blog post all about The Wedding Table Dash soon!

Just as I was packing up for the night, I looked up from tucking my camera in my bag and saw this! The DJ was playing Rock The Boat and the bride literally rocking the boat! Guests were on the floor with their arms in the air, following the moves Marie was instructing them to do. It was the funniest thing, and I have NEVER seen this before in my 9 years of shooting weddings. I quickly busted a move, put the flash back on my camera and grabbed photos of this moment! I am so glad I was still there for this moment!
