One of my favorite ways to celebrate a milestone is with a family cake smash all in one! Sweet little Niam is turning one at the end of October. His mom, Nitasha, planned everything so thoughtfully to make this session extra special. By booking ahead, she gave me plenty of time to edit and deliver their images before his birthday. This basically ensured the family would have these memories to share and cherish on his big day.
The family—Nitasha, Tejas, and Niam—looked amazing for their session. They dressed in neutral colors with a pop of green, which worked perfectly in the studio. When we talked about the cake smash design, Nitasha envisioned neutral fall tones with pumpkins to reflect Niam’s October birthday. The setup came together beautifully—the cake was created by Kristen Chadbourne Cakes in Bedford, NH, and our balloon backdrop was designed by Ellie Piper & Co. out of Manchester. These local vendors helped bring her vision to life and gave the photos that perfect fall feel.
What I love most about combining a family photography session with a cake smash is that it gives parents the best of both worlds. Nitasha and Tejas now have updated family portraits and milestone images of Niam celebrating his first birthday.
