There’s something undeniably magical about Boston in the winter. Alyssa and Jake’s engagement session at the Boston Seaport was proof of that in every way.
With fresh snow on the ground and temperatures dipping below 20 degrees, this session certainly could have felt cold. But instead, it felt intimate, romantic, and full of meaning. The winter months in Boston bring out the most beautiful cool blue tones, soft light, and breathtaking views. Especially when fluffy white snow covers the city. The Seaport, with its waterfront paths, modern skyline, and quiet winter calm, was basically the perfect backdrop for their love story.
What made this session even more special is that the Seaport isn’t just a pretty location for Alyssa and Jake—it’s their place. This is where they got engaged. Before we even started shooting, they showed me the exact spot where Jake popped the question. We spent time talking through the entire night. You could feel the excitement radiating from Alyssa as she told the story. And yes, she’s been engaged for one month and is very excited to get married, which made it even sweeter.
Jake planned the proposal by taking Alyssa back to the restaurant where they went on their very first date. After dinner, they went for a walk along the water. Completely unaware that both of their families were hiding nearby, watching it all unfold. In that exact spot, with the city around them and the water beside them, Jake asked Alyssa to marry him.
