We scheduled Shannon and Chris’ engagement session at Seabrook Dunes and we knew we were taking a gamble. Especially with the weather. The forecast in the days leading up to the shoot threatened rain and storms. We kept checking and rechecking the radar, hoping for a window of sunshine. Nevertheless, as luck would have it, the clouds parted just in time. And we were gifted the most incredible weather—dramatic skies, soft golden light, and a bit of sun peeking through at just the right moments.
We kicked things off at the Seabrook Dunes. It’s one of my favorite spots for its peaceful, sandy trails and natural, coastal beauty. The soft breeze, warm tones of the dune grass, and gentle light basically creates the perfect setting. It was the best spot to capture Shannon and Chris in a relaxed and romantic vibe. Not surprisingly, they were total naturals in front of the camera too. They were laughing, walking barefoot through the sand, and just soaking in the joy of the moment.
Next, we headed over to the Yankee Fisherman’s Co-op for a totally different look. The nautical charm of the lobster traps, buoys, and fishing boats brought out the fun, coastal New England feel. This location is always a favorite for couples who want to incorporate a little maritime character into their session. It certainly fit Shannon and Chris’ easygoing, adventurous personalities perfectly.
For our final stop, we made our way to Hampton Beach South where the waves were rolling in and the jetty offered a striking backdrop. As if on cue, the sun began to break through the clouds, casting dramatic light across the scene and giving us that magical end-of-day glow that photographers dream about. The light reflecting off the water, the wind in Shannon’s hair, and the genuine connection between these two made for some seriously stunning moments.
This session was a true New England springtime dream—full of variety, texture, and beautiful emotion. Shannon and Chris were so much fun to work with, and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding day!
