This kind of session is something NEW for me! Before, if I shot a cake smash, it would be outside. Now, since opening the studio I have done a few cake smash sessions indoors and I am absolutely LOVING IT! Cake smash sessions are for those who have a baby turning 1 year. We will start off taking photos of baby in a nice outfit that you would like to have them in. We can do any theme you’d like. I will set up the backdrop to the theme you choose and we just see what he or she does. Its fun to watch. If they are starting to stand I will give them something to hold on to so they can stand. If not, we don’t need to do that. The session is totally custom to your vision for your baby and I am there to capture the moments.
I met Milo first when he was in his mama’s belly! You can see their maternity session HERE. Then officially met him last fall for his families fall portraits. He was just about 3 months old when I got to meet him and he was the cutest little thing! Now, he is ONE and he’s still the cutest thing.. although much bigger since the first time I met him in person! He had us all laughing so much during his session. While he did not like the cake, he did like to song “Baby Shark”. Sometimes, when baby isnt into sitting still for me when I need them to, I choose a song and let it play to see what will happen. This was the first time he heard that song, and I do not think its his last. He LOVED it and I got some cute shots of him dancing and trying to jump.
When he was leaving mom told me that he tries to wink. So, I winked at him… OH MY GOODNESS he literally put my in a pile of mush when he winked back at me with BOTH eyes. Gah he’s so cute and I am so excite to see him again this fall for their family session again. I am so blessed this family came into my life and I am so happy I get to watch this little one grow.
