Amy and Nick are the sweetest people. You could feel it when they were together, you could see it in the way they interacted with their family and friends, you heard it through the words that were spoken about them from their best man, maid of honor and best friends. They have had their fair share of ups and downs, long distance and planning a wedding during a pandemic. They truly are soulmates and best friends.
The days leading up to their wedding, Hurricane Henri was getting ready to make his arrival. I packed the car with all the rain gear I own ready to tackle this storm with them, but as I woke up on their wedding morning, the sun was shining with not a cloud in sight! The humidity was high but it was not raining and that sun set moment they were hoping to have, happened and it was absolutely amazing.
I’ve had a few favorite moments throughout the day, the fact that her color was TEAL was a HUGE favorite piece of the day for me, but also that they spent time together learning a first dance. When I lived in NJ, I worked at Arthur Murray Dance Studio teaching couples how to dance together. Many of those couples were couples who were getting married and learning their first dance. I LOVED that many couples did this and would turn their lesson into a date night. They would learn basic steps that turned into the movement for their wedding dance together, they’d go out for dinner and drinks.. a movie after (or before) their lesson and it was just a fun way to spend time together. Many times. after couples learned their first dance, they continued with lessons because of how fun it was to learn something new together. When I saw Amy and Nick preparing for their first dance, I could not help but to smile ( and know what dance it was they were doing based on their song and moves). I was so happy on the inside not only that they just got married, but that they took the time to do this together. They learned 2 dances together and showed everyone on their wedding day what they have been working on. It was absolutely amazing to watch them and even though I did not teach them, I was SO SO SO Proud of them! They nailed it. Everyone was cheering for them and I am so excited that I just so happened to be standing in the right spot throughout the whole dance…. wait till you see their dance photos!
What an honor to be the ones to capture their day!!! Lisa and I loved getting to meet Amy and Nick’s families, celebrate alongside of them and document their love!!! Enjoy my favorites!
